Sunshine Oilsands
Sunshine Oilsands Ltd. (HKEX: 2012) is a Calgary-based oil sands development company focused on thermal oil recovery projects in the Athabasca region of Alberta, Canada. The company holds significant oil sands leases and has pursued SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) projects like West Ells and Thickwood. In September 2025, Sunshine announced a non-binding strategic cooperation agreement with BitCruiser Incorporated to develop a Bitcoin mining farm, where Sunshine provides space and energy, while BitCruiser invests in equipment and construction. This marks a diversification into cryptocurrency mining, potentially monetizing energy assets. The company's primary business remains oil sands exploration and production, with mining as an emerging side venture.
